Seraphim was a huge step in learning what kind of cosplays I could make, and will always be near and dear to my heart! However I also know in my heart that I will likely never wear this again, and it'd be best to let someone else have it!
Wings: Please note that this includes FOUR of the six moving wings! There are a few reasons for this: first, I use one of the sets for a different costume. Second, those two are the heaviest and weigh as much as the other four wings together. The four single-jointed wings operate on a pully system with braided steel wire that hooks into a single linear actuator mounted onto a 1/16" aluminum backplate. This actuator plugs into a remote control receiver and a 12v battery, both of which hang from a small bag that I normally tie onto the backplate. This battery is not included, as this needs to ship with special precautions from the manufacturer. However you can purchase the exact one we've used for many years here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ME3ZH7C or any 12v rechargeable battery with a DC outlet will also work. The wings themselves are constructed from aluminum bar, and these screw into the backplate with 1/4" machine screws so that everything breaks down and can be transported in a large sized suitcase. Because wings are heavy and it's nice to remove them throughout the con day, the whole system is attached to heavy duty metal buckles, which a helper can clip on and off the backpack straps, without needing to remove any of the armor or costume. I've included two videos that show more of how these assemble and operate.
I originally was not going to list the wings at all, but since there's been some folks who were interested in just the system with four wings, I've decided to first list the cosplay along with those two sets! If nobody would like to purchase it with the wings, I'll re-list it later without. Please note that the shipping for the wings is a SEPARATE listing, because Ecwid has no concept of multiple shipping boxes, and these absolutely require their own box. To calculate the wing shipping, please also purchase this listing afterward: https://cowbuttcrunchies.ecwid.com/Sakizou-Arts-Se...
Damages of note: This cosplay is absolutely huge, on the older side (made in 2017), and has been worn several times. Like most heavy worbla armor where the pieces rub against each other, there is scuffing and damage, mostly where the paint has worn off/scratched, or in other places where small worbla pieces or sticker filigrees have cracked off. This will continue to be the case with future wears: it is the nature of the beast and you will likely need to continue to touch up the paint after wearing. I have painted over various spots, but please refer to the close-up photos for current condition: there are a lot of them for you to judge. There is also paint transfer and staining on portions of the fabric pieces that have rubbed against the armor. This is most significant on the bodice, but there is also some staining around the skirt's webbing waistband. The vast majority of this is along the waist area of the bodice, which constantly rubs against the inside of the armor corset. This is permanent, but the large reddish mark sits behind the armor (see photos for what this looks like without the armor and with the armor on). There is also makeup discoloration at the top edge of the white neckline lace.
Shipping: You're welcome to purchase multiple costumes and items, but if purchasing multiple large costumes, you may want to try placing two different orders. The shopping cart will automatically combine large box sizes instead of splitting it into two, so your shipping will likely be less expensive if ordered separately. Local pickup is available from Boston, since it's very big and heavy!
Welcome, everyone! We are Cowbutt Crunchies Cosplay, and we're so excited to finally bring you a project we've been working on for the past two years! We're long-time cosplayers who dabble in everything from ballgowns to electronics, but many people know us for our elaborate, larger than life wigwork. Tutorials and cosplay education is a huge part of who we are, and many cosplayers have asked how they too can create these sorts of wigs. We've uploaded many tutorials over the years, but finally we've been able to compile the core techniques that we use into a single book so that ambitious cosplayers can embark on their own extreme projects.
Want even more wig goodness? Check out our social media sites for more tutorials and progress, and especially our charity patreon at https://www.patreon.com/cowbuttcrunchies for additional walkthroughs and 1 on 1 help.
